The Electoral Commission is contemplating on organizing new voter registration for a specific persons of voter.
The groups of persons are those in a 14 days quarantine, people who could not register because of COVID-19 restriction and those who registered but could not find their names in the voters register.
The issue was raised at the EC’s meeting with the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) today, September 24, 2020 but however the two leading political parties, NPP and NDC agreed that such people cannot vote in the polls even if the they are capture because they do not meet the statutory 60-day period before elections.
The NDC representative and party’s Director of IT, Kwame Osei Agyeman-Griffiths asked whether the EC will have a new exhibition exercise for them.
