12% of the population in Ashanti Region wear mask

Ashanti Regional Health Director, Dr Emmanuel Tenkorang says only 12% of the population in the region wear face mask.

He said this was revealed after a survey was conducted by the health directorate on how people are protecting themselves from COVID-19.

He also indicated that the active case have increased to 43 after recording 12 two weeks ago.

Dr. Tenkorang attributed the increase in active cases to the disregard of the safety protocols and called on residents adhere to the measures.

He made these statements during a press conference today, November 10, 2020 held by the regional health directorate.

However, Ghana’s COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,329.
