The 2022 Grammy Awards Ceremony has been rescheduled to April 3, 2022, and will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the Recording Academy has confirmed.

The 64th edition of the annual ceremony, which was initially scheduled to be held indoors at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on January 31, was postponed on January 5 because of rising Covid-19 cases.

It will be broadcast live on CBS and hosted by Trevor Noah.

The Country Music Awards, which was scheduled to be held on April 3, will move its ceremony to a later date in April to accommodate the Grammys, according to a statement.

This is the first time the ceremony will be held in Las Vegas.

The Grammys were also postponed last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and were ultimately held outdoors at the Los Angeles Convention Center in March.

The ceremony is usually held at the Crypto.com Arena, formerly known as the Staples Center, but has sometimes been held in New York City. After the postponement was announced, Variety and Billboard reported that Crypto.com Arena was booked with games and concerts for months and wouldn’t be able to accommodate the change in date to host the Grammys, and that the Recording Academy was eying the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

It can seat 17,000 people but does not have any luxury suites—something Billboard noted was a downside because the academy usually makes money leasing out the Crpto.com Arena suites for the show.

Performers for the ceremony have not yet been announced. Nominations were announced in November and musician Jon Batiste received 11 nods, more than any other artist. Stars like Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo and Lil Nas X all received multiple nominations.
