Yesterday, the Mathematics paper of the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination was leak prior to the start of the paper.
Pictures the questions were making rounds on social media where some of the questions were answered. Many people also called on WAEC to clamp down on those who leak the examination questions.
The Director of Public Affairs of the council, Agnes Teye Cudjoe in an interview said “The issue of exam question leakage is a huge problem for WAEC. Some of our officials in Obuasi yesterday arrested some teachers who had collected GHC2.00 and GHC1.00 from the students ostensibly to help them in the exams. All these are malpractices that should be strongly discouraged.”
However, 10 people has been arrested in connection with the paper leakage and has since been handed over to the Police for further investigations
531, 705 students are writing this year’s BECE. Out of it, 269,419 are males and 262,286 are females. These students are from 16,000 schools.
