The Chief of Ankaful in the Central Region has accused the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) of being a weak manager of the economy.

According to Nana Obura Asanomah Ansa, the NPP is running the economy as if all Ghanaians are rich.

“How can you be running the economy like all Ghanaians are rich when the vast majority of Ghanaians are poor and cannot afford three square meals a day?” he asked.

The chief poured out his frustrations when he spoke on Accra100.5FM’s mid-day news on Wednesday, 24 November 2021.

In his view, the economy is moving in the wrong direction under the Akufo-Addo government.

“It is about time some of us who are not politicians speak out about the suffering of Ghanaians under the reign of the NPP”, he said.

“Things are not moving on well”, he pointed out.

The traditional leader observed that the price of almost everything has risen but the government is only concerned with introducing more taxes.

“It is disgraceful how the economy is being run by the NPP after winning a second term”, Nana Obrasah Ankomah said.

His observation is that politicians are all empathetic of the masses while in opposition but speak a different language when in government.

To him, Ghanaian politicians only see the stark reality when they are in opposition.

He said the NPP, as a political party, has failed the ordinary Ghanaian
