A 13 year old contestant in Citi TV’s talent show Keyboard Idol, Chris Tamakloe has passed on after the vehicle he was travelling in with his dad run into a stationery vehicle at Asutuare Junction near Akosombo.
Chris died on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the 37 Military Hospital after he was transferred from the Dodowa District where the victims were initially rushed to after the accident. A passenger died on the spot.
The other passengers including Chris’ father, Abednego Tamakloe have been treated and discharged.
Announcing the incident, the General Manager of Citi FM/Citi TV, Bernard Avle expressed his condolences to the family saying “It is with immense pain and sadness that we announce the loss of the extraordinarily-talented Chris Tamakloe, one of the contestants on Citi TV’s keyboard Idol. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends and everyone affected by his passing.”
The Citi Breakfast Show host also announced that talent reality show has been put on hold to mourn with the family and “The management of Citi TV will provide details of the recommencement of the competition, in due course.”
Chris performed on the show with fans and judges commending him on his performance. He performed Bebe Winans’ ‘Jesus Loves Me’ on the Keyboard Idol show.
Even before the show start, most of the contestants saw him as a competition because he was good on the piano.
Tributes have been pouring in for the young talent on social media.
