Ghanaian Music Legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu popularly known as Daddy Lumba is 56 years today.
He was born of 29th September 1964 at Nsuta in the Ashanti Region.
DL as he is also known as started music at age 16 at Juabeng Senior High School where he led a band till he completed in 1984.
He later form the Lumba Brothers which saw Nana Acheampong coming into the scene but they later went their separate ways. If they has ever been in beef amongst Ghanaian musicians, definitely Daddy Lumba and Nana Acheampong will be part of the list.
He has also introduce some of Ghana’s finest musicians like Ofori Amponsah, Daasebre Dwamena, K.K Fosu and many more.
Daddy Lumba has over 30 albums to his name. Aben Woha, Doctor Paniee, Theresa, 111666, Woho Kyere, Mentie obiaa are some of his songs.
He is also known for the New Patriotic Party’s 2008 campaign song ‘Nana Ye Winner’ which the party still plays till.
Even though he is known for provocative songs, DL also has some Gospel songs to his name. Me Mpaebo, Enye Nyame Den, Anidaso woho Ma Obiaa, Hosanna just to mention a few.
Daddy Lumba is not only known for his music but his hairstyles. He sometimes cut his hair and also braid it.
For controversies, he has many of them. The lyrics of his songs gives him away first of all and also his music videos. He was later in the news for bleaching his skin which he denied. His recent issues was when he was rumored to have passed on but was not true.
Daddy Lumba has been trending on Twitter all day with Ghanaians sharing their memories about his songs. Bola Ray, Lexis Bill, Kwami Eugene, Akwaboah Junior, King Promise are some of the personalities celebrating the highlife legend.
