Share the Story

Dome market has been gutted by fire this morning with over 30 shops burnt in the Greater Accra Region. Fire Service was called to put the fire off but they could not get there on time claiming there was traffic.

National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has been at the scene to asses to damage caused by the fire. The management however believes that the fire came from a catering shop near the market.

Mr. Seth Kissi, the coordinator of NADMO said “Most of the burnt shops are at the entrance of the market, they mostly the container shops. Luckily, the fire did not enter the main market.

“The fire service is here and we hope that things will calm down in about two hours but for now there is heavy traffic on the stretch so I urge drivers to ply other routes,”.

However, no causalities was recorded.
