Education Minister warns heads of schools not to sack students because of PTA dues

Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has warn heads of school not to sack any student because of Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) dues.

He said any headmaster/headmistress who will sack any student because of PTA dues will also be sacked.

He said students should not be prevent from enjoying the Free SHS policy because government have taken care of all expenses including school uniforms, textbooks, revision notes, exams fees amongst others.

Speaking at the opening of a 450-bed capacity boys dormitory block at Fomena TI Ahmadiyya SHS yesterday, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh said asked parents to report to his office any headmaster/headmistress that will prevent their wards from schooling because of PTA dues.

He said 51,000 results were withheld in 2016 during Mahama’s reign because of school fees but President Nana Akufo-Addo having Ghanaians interest at heart introduced the Free SHS to take the burden off parents and students.
