The Inspector-General of Police has disclosed that five people have been arrested following the clash between the supporters of the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party at the Odododiodoo constituency.

Addressing a press conference in Accra today, Mr James Oppong-Boanuh said the five have been processed for court and the case is going on.

“Five persons have been arrested. They’ve been taken to court and the case is still in court,” he said.

However, the National Commission of Small Arms and Light Weapons on Tuesday called on the leadership of two political parties to commit to peace ahead of the December polls.

Both the incumbent Member of Parliament and the parliamentary aspirant, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye and his main contender, the New Patriotic Party’s aspirant, Nii Lante Bannerman have promise to maintain peace in the area.
