
Five people have been freed to go home by the Bole Magistrate Court in the Savanna Region over the lynching of a 90 year old woman, Akua Denteh suspected to be a witch on Friday, September 18, 2020.
The five people are Haruna Aness, 34, Issifa Tanko, 35, Shaibu Muntala, 29, Sulemana Ali, 35, Issifa Zakyibo, Latifa Bumaye and Hajia Serena.
However, two people have been remanded by the court and they are Latifa Bumaya and Sherina Mohammed.
The Judge setting the five free said “I have been served with the will of indictment and summary of evidence this morning from the office of the Attorney General. I have therefore struck out a court case against the suspects”.
The two suspects remanded are to return to the Tamale High Court on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
