United States of America government has congratulated the President-elect of the just ended elections, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
It describes Ghana as a shinning example of democracy and looks forward to continuing the strong partnership with the country.
In a tweet, the embassy said “The U.S. congratulates Ghana on its successful elections on Dec. 7 and President Akufo-Addo on his reelection. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Ghana, a shining example of democracy, in which any electoral disputes would be resolved through legal channels.”
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been re-elected President of the Republic of Ghana.
He polled a total of 6,730,413 votes, representing 51.59 per cent to beat closest contender John Dramani Mahama, who polled a total of 6,214,889 votes, in Monday’s presidential elections.
