The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said that Ghanaians have no confidence in the government’s appointees hence their defeat.

Some ministers of the government who were also members of parliament have lost their seats to the National Democratic Congress candidates.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, December 10, 2020, the General Secretary said “The electorate showed their lack of confidence in the a particular government by the way they  vote out  the ministers  in that government. This is a show of vote of no confidence in Nana Akufo-Addo’s government.

He went on to mention some of the ministers that lost their seats.

“Look at the list of   key ministers who have fallen. Professor Yankah Minister for Tertiary Education is gone, Hajia Alima Mahama Minister of Local Government and was partly responsible for creating new regions and making her hometown the regional capital. Professor Gyan Baffuor, Oko Boye, Fisheries Minister, Anthony Karbo all gone.” Mr Asiedu Nketia said.

He also alleged that some operatives of the National Security are printing different pink sheets to make a strong case for the Electoral Commission (EC) after they accuse the EC of churning out wrong results.
