The Ghana Journalist Association has set aside November 13, 2020 as the day members will elect its executives for the next three years for both national and regional.
The GJA in a statement said that nominations will soon for President, Vice President, General Secretary, National Organizer, Public Affairs Officer and Treasurer for the national elections and Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary for the regional elections which will be held in all 16 regions of the country.
In view of this, the association has appointed a three-member committee to oversee the elections. It will be chaired by Mr. Osei Kwadwo, a private legal practitioner and a lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) and will be assisted by Mr. Peter Agbeko, head of Public Relations at the Ghana Standards Authority and Madam Doris Kuwornu, the Vice President of the Ghana Association of Writers (GAW).
The statement also said a three-member Election Dispute Adjudication Committee (EDAC) had been appointed with Madam Marian Kyei, a private legal practitioner and media consultant as the Chairperson and will also be assisted by Mr. Zakaria Tanko, a private legal practitioner and lecturer at the GIJ, and Madam Sylvia Annoh, the acting Director of Public Affairs of the Electoral Commission.
