The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Mahama has announced that he is cutting short his tour in the Bono Region to return to Accra because of the issues arising in the ongoing exhibition of the voters register by the Electoral Commission.
The exhibition of the voter’s register started on Friday, September 18, 2020 which is the last stage of cleaning the register. Issues have come since the exercise start with the recent been the issues raised by the Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Ernest Norgbey.
Mr. Norgbey complain the 21,000 people were not capture by the EC including him in his constituency claiming the EC wants to disenfranchise the voters.
Announcing his return to Accra on Facebook, the Former President said “I am cutting short my tour of the Bono Region to return to Accra because of the increasing reports of challenges with the voter register and the exhibition process”.
John Mahama also called on International bodies to come on board to ensure there is peaceful elections come December 7, 2020.
