President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has made a candid admission that he wants a presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who can unite the party after its primaries.
“I want a candidate who can manage the cracks that will emerge after the party’s primary because these cracks have the tendency to affect the state,” he stated.
He noted that the cracks that will emerge after the presidential primary has the potential to affect the state if not properly managed.
Nana Akufo-Addo said the only way to manage these cracks if they emerge was to elect a candidate who is formidable and can unite the party.
The president made said this on Accra-based Peace FM on Thursday, 21 October 2021.
“As a leader of the party who will be exiting soon, all I want to see is fairness in the processes towards all the personalities yearning to succeed me as leader of the party,” he noted.
The President said the only way to prevent cracks emerging after the presidential primaries is fairness in the processes.
