Kwami Eugene, VGMA Artiste of the Year

Over the weekend, Kwami Eugene was crowned the VGMA Artiste of the Year at Accra International Conference Center. It came as a surprised to many people who think he doesn’t deserve it. Kofi Kinaata and Sarkodie were highlife rooted to win that award but that didn’t happen.

Guru, a hiplife artiste also said that Kwami Eugene do not deserve it. Speaking on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty, Kwami said it is normal for people to think or say that he doesn’t deserve it.

“If Sark had won, people will come and say he didn’t deserve it: it’s normal, if Kofi Kinaata had won, Sark Nation will say he didn’t deserve it, so it’s both ways. People like to express themselves and I think Guru has every right to feel this way,” he said.

Kwami Eugene also said he will glady accept an offer to do a collaboration with Guru in future.

“I’m a big fan of Guru so if he wants a collaboration, I’ll accept.”
