Former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor said he stayed up all night monitoring the results of Monday’s elections.
In an interview with an Accra-based Asaase Radio today, December 8, 2020 which happens to be his 82nd birthday, Mr Kufuor said “I’ve been up throughout the night following the results and listening to the results from all over the country.”
He said the race to the Jubilee House is a tight one and he is not disappointed in the results so far.
“But I thought we would do far better than that… The country appreciated the party, otherwise our president wouldn’t’ have performed as well as he did.” the former President said.
He said he rather sees the results as an indication of how discerning the Ghanaian electorate has become.
Mr Kufuor said “But this shows that people are very discerning these days – policies affect people individually and on merit, so they (electorates) distinguish between the president and the MPs.”
