Ivory Coast President, Alassane Ouattara has congratulated President Nana Akufo-Addo on his re-election as the President of Ghana in the just ended elections.
Taking to his Facebook timeline, Mr Ouatarra said he looks forward too working with him.
“My warmest congratulations and best wishes to my brother Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his re-election as President of the Republic of Ghana. I look forward to working with him in the same warm spirit which has marked the historic and fraternal relations between Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana for so many years,” the Ivorian President said.
The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs Jean Mensah who is also the returning officer for the presidential elections announced on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 that President Nana Akufo-Addo is the winner of the elections.
He polled 6,730,587 votes representing 51.302 per cent while his main contender, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama polled polled 6,213,182 representing 47.359 per cent out of the 13,119,460 total valid votes cast.
