The lawyers of the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong explained that the lawmaker could not make it to court today because he is suffering from COVID-19 complications which he suffered last month.
Mr. Agyapong was supposed to appear in court today to explain why he should not be punish after insulting a judge on his television, Net2 TV some weeks.
Kwame Gyan, the lead counsel said “our client, the honourable Kennedy Agyapong, suffered from complications from the post-Covid-19 condition that he suffered last month. We arranged for him to seek treatment from the same doctor who treated him of Covid-19.”
The presiding judge, Justice Wuni said there is nothing barring him from proceeding with the case. He has however adjourned the case to October 1, 2020 and has called on the doctor who treated the MP of COVID-19 to appear in court that same day.
