The Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama has filed a motion at the Supreme Court to compel to Electoral Commission Chairperson, Mrs Jean Mensah to admit to errors she made during the declaration of the presidential election.
He said he wants the EC Chair to admit that the figures and percentages announced by her during the declaration if collated will come to 100.3% instead of 100%.
Mr Mahama wants the EC Chairperson to admit that the subsequent correction of results in statements issued by the EC is different from what candidates obtained as captured in the summary of results sheets published by the EC.
John Mahama and the NDC are challenging the results of the announced by the EC saying the results did not reflect the decision of Ghanaians who voted.
He also said neither he nor President Akufo-Addo attained a clear majority and therefore prays the court orders the EC to conduct a re-run between himself and the President.
Meanwhile, the court is due to hear the matter of the election petition today, January 19, 2021.
