Former President, John Mahama has filed his nomination as a presidential candidate on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.

The General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia submit the forms to the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Mrs Jean Mensah on behalf of the Flagbearer.

After submitting the forms, Mr. Asiedu said “The laws of the Commission indicated that an old register does not become extinct until a new one is finalised and certified. We have a situation when we are called upon to file nominations where there is a big doubt as to which register will be the base document for the filing of nominations. It is unfortunate that a mature democracy like Ghana’s, we are having to go into elections as if we haven’t tasted democracy before,”

However, the presidential candidate for the Progressive People’s Party, Bridget Dzogbenuku also filed her nominations yesterday.

President Nana Akufo-Addo, who is the main contender of John Mahama filed his nominations on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.
