MOWAG to go on strike on October 1

The Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana has in statement said they will go on strike on October 1, 2020 for government to improve their condition.

The association says the Ministry of Health has failed to resolved its long standing grievances. They also said they work under bad conditions such that they inhale dangerous chemicals which is detrimental to its health.

The statement also said the strike will be in full force until government meets their demand under under Article 159 of the Labour Law (Act 651).

Some of the conditions of service for which the morgue are striking are inadequate PPE’s for them, unresolved salaries, promotions, morgue workers out of the 50% motivation by the President, stigmatization and others.
