Former President John Mahama has said that Nana Akufo-Addo is rather shielding his appointees instead of fighting corruption anytime the issue involves them.
He said the President has turned into a clearing agent, clearing his appointees defying his promise of fighting corruption.
Speaking to some supporters of the National Democratic Congress at Adjen Kojo, the flagbearer of the party said “When there is a case before the Special Prosecutor, he quickly takes the case to the CID for a parallel investigation and before you realise, the CID will say the person has been cleared. This kind of interference in the anti-corruption agencies must stop. The most difficult thing as a president is to deal with your own people when they are corrupt.”
Mr. Mahama however said that the next NDC government will not shield anybody in terms of corruption related issues.
