NDC manifesto solution to Ghana’s problem- General Mosquito

The General Secretary of the most biggest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said the party’s2020 policy, christened ‘People’s Manifesto’ is the result of out-of-the-box thinking which holds the remedies to Ghana’s problems.

Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia popularly known as General Mosquito stated on Monday, 7 September 2020 throughout the launch of the NDC’s manifesto at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) that the party believed it was smart to seek solutions from the ordinary people of Ghana instead of acting its specialists and technocrats had all the responses.

He stated the NDC used the very same approach used by former President Jerry John Rawlings in creating a Consultative Setting up of average Ghanaians to draft the nation’s 1992 Constitution.

Also prior to the policy document launch, Ex-President John Mahama had promised to create one million job for the youth, legalise okada, provide totally free health care, fight corruption among other promises.

In July in 2014, Mr Mahama stated the policy Committee of the NDC provided to him ‘People’s Manifesto’ for the 2020 general political elections.

“I have received a copy of our manifesto for the December 2020 elections from the Manifesto Working Committee”,, Mr Mahama wrote on social media on Republic Day– 1 July 2020.

“This document, The People’s Manifesto, will represent the NDC and my social contract with the good people of Ghana”, he said.

“I thank you all for your contributions to the compilation, and, as I have promised, I look forward to the Policy Dialogue Series through which I will be sharing details of the various sectors and themes of the Manifesto”, he said.

Last year, Mr Mahama stated the NDC’s 2020 policy document will be a record put together after an in-depth consultative procedure with both party members along with identifiable bodies that were not always politicians.

Speaking at the launch of the party’s policy committee in Accra on Wednesday, 23 October 2019, the flagbearer of the party stated the NDC’s tasks are focused on restoring hope and “dealing with the enhancing hardship inflicted on Ghanaians, unmatched corruption and also the family-and-friends administration we are burdened today.”

The former President noted that the NDC, through its manifesto, will give a durable set of plan options assisted by research study however most significantly, by broad assessments, to restore hope in the administration of the nation “to increase what was a successful beginning to the diversity and change of our economic situation and also substantially boost the living problems of our people”.
