The New Patriotic Party Caucus in Parliament has been declared as the Majority group in parliament by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin.

This declaration comes after the Fomena Independent MP, Andrews Asiamah Amoako officially wrote to speaker informing him of his decision to join the NPP side in doing business in the House.

The said letter was read in the plenary of Parliament as members reconvened after the dramatic inauguration of the 8th Parliament on January 7, 2021.

The Speaker in his opening remarks condemned the turn of events leading to his electing saying it was unjustifiable.

However, he did not mention if there is going to be a probe into the chaos and the invasion of the security services in the chamber.
