The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said the happenings in the Volta Region is a plot by the New Patriotic Party to turn the region into a war zone.
A few weeks ago, some members of a secessionists group blocked the entry and exit roads of the Volta Region. They also attacked the regional yard of the State Transport Corporation and burnt a bus.
Mr. Nketia said he has an evidence that the NPP is distributing weapons to vigilante groups to cause mayhem in the December elections.
“They [NPP] will clad some vigilante groups with military uniforms to terrify Voltarians on the elections day. I have the list of all guns with registered numbers given to groups,” he said.
“They should know we are aware, if we don’t speak against it, NPP will destroy this country like the way they killed Yaa-Naa, that is their game plan,” he added
He made these allegation on Neat FM’s morning show, Ghana Montie.
