Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress has said the Peace Council should have been calling the NDC because they have followed the process of the registration to now the exhibition.
He also said their silence in the issues are not helping matters and the council has not provide a solution on how the anomalies in the exhibition should be solved.
“As for the Peace Council, they themselves are aware of the problem, so, they should be calling us because they have followed this process. We have given them all our issues relating to the preparation towards election from day one to date. We have not found any single solution from that platform and, so, we don’t think that solutions to this problem lie with the Peace Council.” he said
The General Secretary of the NDC also accused the the Electoral Commission’s Eminent Advisory Committee of being part of the missing names in the voters register.
“The Electoral Commission itself constituted a committee of eminent persons to advise them, so, we presume that the printing of these papers on our blind side was done with the advice of the committee of eminent persons. So, they have excluded themselves from opinion leaders who we should be consulting for solutions because they are part of the problem,” Mr. Asiedu said.
Mr. Johnson Asiedu was speaking at the NDC’s press conference to address the voter registration anomalies on Thursday, 24 September 2020.
