President, Vice together with their spouses vaccinated for COVID-19

The President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo and the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo has taken the jab of the COVID-19 vaccine at the 37 Military Hospital this morning.

Before taking the injection, the President said “I decided to take it [the vaccine] publicly to clear all doubts and urge everyone to also accept the vaccine.”

He further stated that “It’s important to state that this vaccine is safe by being the first to have it. So everybody in Ghana should feel comfortable about taking the vaccine. It is important that everybody at the end of the day is vaccinated. That is our objective.”

Also, the Vice President together with his spouse, the Second Lady, Samira Bawumia has taken the COVID-19 vaccine at the Police Hospital in Accra.

Ghana received its first batch of 600,000 doses of Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine through the COVAX Facility.
