Some traders in Kumasi are calling on the Police to provide security at various marketplaces in the Ashanti Region.

This follows the robbery that took place yesterday at the Alabar main street around 12:10pm.

Speaking to an Accra based Citi FM, the traders said “Next time, I suspect we will all run for lives because we don’t know what will happen when we are attacked since they were able to enter the Alabar market and caused this mayhem. So we want the police to come to our aid and protect us.”

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has however arrested three people in connection with the robbery.

The three people are Hamza Nuhu, 22, who is on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after he was shot in the thigh by the police during a pursuit, Salifu Iddrisu, 18, and Ali Razak also 18.
