Rawlings’ family ask for privacy to mourn the former President

Family of the former President of Ghana, the late President Jerry John Rawlings have asked for privacy to mourn him.

A statement from the Officer of the former President sign by his daughter, Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings says it needs privacy in this difficult moment.

“It is with deep sadness that the family of His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings (Rtd), informs the public that the former President of the Republic, passed away on Thursday morning after a short illness. The family requests privacy at this difficult moment. Details of funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.” the statement said.

Mr. Rawlings passed on at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

He died after a short illness.

He recently buried his mother, Madam Victoria Agbotui who passed on at the age of 101.
