Sheila Bartels, daughter of former Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Kwamena Bartels has followed the footsteps of her dad by winning the Ablekuma North constituency seat.
The New Patriotic Party parliamentary aspirant won the seat with 54,556 votes.
She beat the incumbent MP from the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Winifred Ashley Mensah who obtained 29,702 votes.
The third person that contested in the parliamentary elections in that constituency, Princess Awuku of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) who obtained, 716 votes.
A total of 85,471 votes were cast with 427 votes rejected.
