The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress has said that the President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party must concede in the just ended elections.
At a press conference, the NDC projected that the they were ahead of the NPP hence the call to concede.
Mr. Otukunor said “Let me use this opportunity to as a matter of urgency and importance call on the outgoing president, President William Akufo-Addo, to concede defeat in the interest of the sanctity of our democracy,” he said at a press conference at the headquarters of the NDC.”
Before the call, the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah debunked the claims of the NDC that it has won a parliamentary majority in the elections held on Monday.
He also warned supporters of the opposition party not to jubilate as it is likely to create confusion if it turns out that the results do not favour the party.
