There is no need for violence – IGP to youth

The Inspector General Police has called on the youth to stop taking part in election related violence as elections is approaching.

He was speaking to the chiefs and people Achiase in the Juaben municipality in the Ashanti Region on the reason why peace is needed in the country before, during and after the elections to be held in December.

“If you disagree with someone on an issue, it doesn’t make them your enemies. If you are on opposing sides, it is all part of democracy. There is no need for violence. All you have to do is to vote for who you want and go home peacefully on that day”, he said.

The IGP assured that there will be adequate police officers to provide security during the elections.
