Voting come to an end, sorting and counting underway

Voting at most polling stations in the country has come to an end in the parliamentary and presidential elections.

The exercise started at 7am and has ended at 5pm today, December 7, 2020.

Officials of the Electoral Commission are sorting out the ballots and counting will follow soon.

However 12 candidates are contesting in the presidential race.

The candidates are Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (NPP), John Dramani Mahama (NDC), Christian Kwabena Andrews (GUM), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet (CPP), Akua Donkor (GFP), Henry Herbert Lartey (GCPP), Hassan Ayariga (APC), Percival Kofi Akpaloo (LPG), David Asibi Ayindenaba Apasera (PNC), Brigitte Akosua Dzogbenuku (PPP), Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings (NDP) and Alfred Kwame Asiedu Walker, (Independent Candidate).

A number of people are also contesting in the parliamentary race.

The EC said barring any challenge, it is determined to declare the results in 24 hours after the elections.
