You have a positive story to tell and to secure a second term- Gabby tells NPP to move away from Martin Amidu’s issues

One of the leading members of the New Patriotic Party, Gabby Otchere-Darko has asked the party to concentrate on its campaign and ignore the issues of the former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu.

He said the party has a positive story to tell and needs to secure a second hence their focus should be there.

Martin Amidu in his resignation letter, cited reasons why he resigned and amongst them is the interference from government but the President in a statement also responded to the issues raised in the letter, denying every allegation.

In an interview with Citi FM’s Umaru Sanda Amadu, Mr Amidu said he is being pushed to speak but if he does it will be unpalatable for the government.

“Please, I have said since I left office that I was not going to give any press interview about my resignation. I was not going to talk to the press. I am being pushed by so-called responses to me, which contains reference…to speak. But I do not want anybody to blame me when I speak out and it becomes unpalatable.”

But in a tweet, Mr Otchere Darko said “NPP, it is time to move on, completely. If NDC wants to make their new best friend Martin their campaign’s last straw let them hold on to it. Get back on message. You have a positive story to tell and to secure a second time.
