Three people has been arrested Agona Nkwanta in Takoradi of the Western Region.
They were arrested by the Police for refusing to wear the face mask even though they had it on them.
Speaking on Face-to-Face on Ghana Waves Radio, the District Commander of the Police in the Agona Nkwanta District, Valentine Agbosu said they even provided them with one before prosecuting them.
He also revealed that the Police mount barriers at some areas to check if people are wearing the mask and they also engage in education including media engagement to create awareness on the need to wear the mask.
Mr Agbosu also said they are strategizing to visit crowded areas such as the churches, mosques and beaches to check if people are observing the protocols.
Punishment for people who do not wear the mask will be punished by 1000 penalty units which equals to GHC12,000 or 4 years imprisonment.
Mr Agbosu also said they are not just educating people but they back that with action and set recalcitrant as scape goats.
