The President, Nana Akufo-Nana has praised farmers in Ghana as the country marked Farmers’ Day today, November 6, 2020.
Speaking at this year’s celebration at Techiman, the President said thanks to farmers and fisherfolks, there was no food shortage despite the presence of COVID-19.
He urged all farmers especially those who won awards to use that as an opportunity and move to greater heights.
Farmers’ Day is usually celebrated on the first Friday of December except in an election year where the day is celebrated on the first Friday of November to celebrate all farmers for their contribution to the development of the country.
This year’s Farmers’ Day is on the theme ‘Ensuring agri-business development under Covid-19 – Opportunities and Challenges”.
