The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensah has advised the youth not to be allowed as agents of trouble by the politicians.
This follows the violence that happened at Odododiodoo where supporters of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress clashed leaving 15 people injured.
The EC boss said the fact that one may loose his life should be enough deterrent to the youth not to involve in any violent activities.
Speaking to first time voters at the Youth Bridge Foundation on Thursday, Mrs. Jean Mensah said “I would like to use this opportunity to call on the youth not to allow yourselves to be used to foment trouble. Be it on the streets or social media. Just a few days ago we saw some acts of violence in Odododiodoo and I believe there are people who are behind this violence… You must not allow yourself to be used. Let us say no to violence.”
Meanwhile, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo, Hon. Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye has called on his supporters to refrain from violent activities.
