The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has extended the incentive package for health workers to the end of the year.
This means that health workers will not pay any income tax for October, November and December.
Addressing the nation in his 19th COVID-19 yesterday, the President said “I am happy to announce that the incentive package for health workers has been extended to the end of the year.”
He also said “all frontline health workers as defined by the Ministry of Health will continue to receive their additional allowance of 50 percent of their basic salary for the month of October, November and December.”
The President noted that the incentives forms part of government’s commitment to support health workers rendering services during this pandemic area.
