The Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has paid the bills of children at the Battor Catholic Church moments after he was declared the winner of the constituency elections in the parliamentary elections.
He said the payment of the medical bills for the children was a ‘thank you offering’ for the electorates who re-elected him as their MP
Mr Ablakwa polled 39, 294 votes representing 89.7% to beat his opponent Richard Arku of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) who polled a meagre 4, 086 votes representing 9.32%.
He said his victory means his constituents do not expect anything below excellent representation from him and, therefore, “I shall render just that with total dedication, selflessness, dynamism and humility. So help me God.”
