Vodafone Ghana Music Awards happened during weekends with two days set aside to present the awards due to COVID-19. Previous events saw massive crowd at the Accra International Conference Centre but this year’s event was different with only invite celebrities gracing the occasion.
Though it was a night full of awards, performances and stage craft cannot be left off the hook as artistes mount the stage with stellar performances.
E.L open the stage with his song ‘Leaks’ also known as ‘Efa Woho Ben’ with a choir. Celestine Donkor, who won the Female Vocalist of the Year performed the song that won her the award, Agbebolo with Nhyiraba Gideon charging the auditorium.
Lynx Entertainment duo, Kidi and Kwami Eugene disappoint as they gave energy-filled stage craft with the live band. Epixode, a reggae artiste also came up stage to perform some of his songs and also used that to pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman of Black Panther Fame who died on Saturday after suffering Colon Cancer.
The VGMA stage was also blessed with beautiful voice from Efya, Adina and king Promise, who gave the audience classy performances. Akwaboah made a statement on the stage that he comes from a family of musicians with the great show he put up.
The oldies were not left out. Amandzeba, Akosua Agyapong and Rex Omar took the audience back to the days of NAKOREX. The whole auditorium was on its feet as they could not sit at excellent performance.
The event was hosted by Berla Mundi and KOD with Kwami Eugene wining the Artiste of the Year.
