Adam Bona, a security analyst said asked the Police to the public what it had done with past election related violence so the public can trust them as the country prepares to go to the polls.
The Inspector-General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh addressing a press conference yesterday said that the security agencies have identified 6,178 flashpoints have been identified ahead of the December elections.
He said the police will put in special security measures to maintain law and order and 62,794 personnel will be deployed for the elections.
Speaking on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News, Adam Bona said ”The police should let us know how they previously handled persons who tried to foment trouble during elections. That will be reassuring for us. For instance, recently we saw some young people on social media threatening to cause mayhem during the 2020 elections. We want to hear from the police what exactly they have done or are going to do about it.”
However, the Police said it 204 incidents of violence during the Electoral Commission’s voters registration.
