The Supreme Court is expected to hear the motion filed by former President John Dramani Mahama requesting an amendment to the election petition he filed challenging the validity of the declaration of President Akufo-Addo as winner of the 2020 presidential election today, January 14, 2021.
The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress in the just ended election is praying the court to allow him to correct a mistake in relief (f) of the election petition.
Per the state of relief (f), John Mahama wants the court to order a re-run between himself and the first respondent, which as stated in the petition turns out to be the Electoral Commission.
The Apex court is expected to hear that motion later this morning.
He will also requesting the court to allow a live telecast of the hearing of the election petition as was done in the 2012 petition.
