Dr. Jerry James Abobrah, the Medical Superintendent of the Axim Government Hospital, told the Takoradi Harbour Circuit Court A that medical examinations on Josephine Panyin Mensah, the woman at the center of the alleged fake kidnapping and pregnancy case, revealed that she was a healthy, non-pregnant, and pre-menopausal woman.
Dr. Jerry James Abobrah, the first doctor to check Josephine following her claimed kidnapping, informed the court ruled over by His worship, Michael Kwodjoe Ampadu, that Josephine’s breast did not show signs of pregnancy.
Dr. Abobrah, Michael Prah, the carpenter who discovered Josephine at the Axim Jehovah’s Witness church, and Ebenezer Nyame Ayeh, a tailor who spotted Josephine at the Carpenter’s shop, all testified in front of the circuit court today, Thursday, January 13, 2022.
This takes the total number of individuals who have testified to five.
After the case was extended to January 20, 2022, Josephine Panyin Mensah’s lawyer, Philip Fiifi Buckman, who cross-examined the three witnesses, talked to Citi News.
“In the case, we had the prosecution call their third, fourth, and five witnesses. I was able to finish cross-examinations since the third and fourth witnesses had filed witness statements, but the doctor from Axim had to give viva voce [orally presented evidence], so I had to listen, write, and then seal his lips.”
Mr. Buckman stated, “They’re coming back next week to continue, so I’ll continue with the cross-examination.”
