Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, the running mate of the NDC’s flagbearer and former Education Minister said the NDC government will abolish the double track system introduce by the ruling government to accommodate the huge numbers of students enrolled onto Free SHS implemented by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
She also said that if given the nod in the December elections, the government will include private schools unto the system to allow students in deprived areas have access. She also said that they will also address the challenges faced by the policy.
“The next NDC Government will make the Free Senior High School Programme better by ensuring that its numerous challenges are addressed, and higher standards introduced. We expand the Free SHS programme to cover students in private Senior High Schools in underserved/deprived areas,” she said.
Not only will they include private schools but will create equal opportunities for all. Prof. Naana was speaking at the launch of the manifesto of the NDC dubbed ‘The People’s Manifesto.
