The Majority Leader in Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has called on his colleagues to protect the country.
Speaking in Parliament yesterday, October 6, 2020, he said “I don’t believe that any of us here will buy into an agenda This country has had a referendum in 1992 and resolved, as a nation, that we’ll live together in unity and we resolve to also protect the stability of this country”.
The Suame MP said the constitution binds them to protect the country and should not allow any body to take the country to the brink.
“The clarion call should go to all of us; it should go to all of us herein assembled as Members of Parliament that that collective resolve, which happened when we contracted the referendum that approved the 1992 Constitution, still holds and we should not allow any individuals with ulterior motives to take this nation to the brink. We must live in unity, we must live in stability, we must live as a collective. Let nobody attempt to fragment this country. It’s not going to happen and it won’t happen” he noted.
Already, the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu has pledged to support the government to deal with the separatist group.
