President Nana Akufo-Addo has said that he and his government has stabilized the country’s economy.
He said he inherited a difficult economy after he won the 2016 elections but that it has restored confidence back in the sector.
Presenting his last State of the Nation Address for his first term, the President said ”We have been able to stabilize the economy, restored confidence in economy. The economy has been fairly stabilized. “
He also said the country exiting the IMF bailout which the previous government entered into is one of the indicators of a buoyant economy he has built.
He noted that “Single digit inflation, relatively stable exchange rate, three consecutive years of trade de surplus, reduced lending rates” are indicators of strong economy he built.
